In 2013, after several years of traveling and exploring, I established my own salon that integrated my diverse interests in upcycling, sustainability, talent & creativity. I was recognized as a finalist in the Green Salon competition for two consecutive years in 2014 and 2015 & was subsequently named the UK Ultimate Medium Salon in 2016. Additionally, I had the privilege of attending the OMC Hairworld World Cup in Frankfurt in 2014, which was an extraordinary experience.
I began my hairdressing career in 1986 & actively participated in regional competitions throughout my youth. In the late 1980s, I achieved a second-place finish in the Brighton Regional Junior Stylist Emerging Hair Awards. I found great enjoyment in competitions, the opportunity to meet new individuals & the invaluable knowledge gained from brief interactions with others. My insatiable thirst for knowledge has led me to enroll in numerous courses throughout my career. This approach aligns with my nature of continuous learning, which also serves as an effective means of staying abreast of emerging trends & products.
My journey has encompassed techniques such as piggyback perming, disconnected razor cutting & vintage hair in the 1980s through to curl structure & cutting, clipper skills, and colour science..
I will continue my learning path...always
